Summit School District has begun the Interim Superintendent Search Process
(FRISCO, CO - MAY 5, 2021) Summit School District (SSD) Board of Education would like to announce that the search for an interim superintendent has begun. The interim superintendent will assume leadership of Summit School District beginning July 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.
The Board partnered with McPherson & Jacobson LLC, one of the nation's leading education search firms, to recruit and hire during the 2020 superintendent search process. In the current interim superintendent search, the Board will continue partnering with the firm, in which the firm's services are included in the previous contract. The Board will also utilize the firm in the long-term superintendent search beginning January 2022.
During the 2020 search, search firm consultants facilitated community engagement sessions and online surveys to hear authentic feedback from various stakeholder groups from across the community. SSD gathered desired leadership attributes and experiences which our community deems important for the superintendent to possess. The District will use this essential insight and data to help the efficiency of the interim superintendent search process.

"It is vital that we integrate our community's values into the ways that we search and recruit our District's new interim superintendent."
The Board of Education consulted with the search firm to discuss the timeline and process at a Special Board meeting this evening, May 5. For those unable to attend, the recording will be available on the District website, summitk12.org.
The process will begin by posting the position on superintendent job boards, including on the Colorado Association of School Boards (CASB) and Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE) websites. The District's consultant will review applicants, in which highly qualified candidates will interview with the Board of Education in a public meeting on June 14, 2021 for our community to watch. After a selection and offer are made, a community Meet & Greet will be scheduled on June 17, COVID-permitting. Once the schedule is finalized, it will be posted on the District website.
Summit School District would also like to invite the Summit community to the next Regular Board of Education meeting on May 27, 2021 at 5:00pm. The meeting agenda will also be available on the District website.
